TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida Department of Veterans'
Affairs Executive Director LeRoy Collins Jr. is featured
as the guest commentator in the April edition of the
Military Channel's monthly e-mail newsletter. "To help
commemorate May's National Military Appreciation Month,
Collins and other state veterans' affairs directors were
asked to provide appropriate remarks from their
respective states," said FDVA Communications Director
Steve Murray. Florida's subscribers to the Military
Channel's newsletter received their copy containing
Collins' remarks on April 16. In his remarks,
Collins said, "During National Military Appreciation
Month, we celebrate the blessings of liberty secured by
Florida's more than 1.7 million veterans, who represent
nearly a century of selfless service and sacrifice in
assuring our American way of life. "We dedicate
ourselves with great enthusiasm to supporting our men
and women currently in uniform, honoring their duty,
honor and love of country. Let us also not forget the
families of our service members and veterans, who
themselves, embody the values we hold so dear.
